Two years ago or longer when William and I first started planning our second back packing trip thru Europe I found Plitvice National Park in Croatia.  I have dreamed of walking the wooden pathway thru the lakes to see multitudes of waterfalls.   It seemed to me to be a Nature Lover’s paradise and I could not wait to visit it one day.

So I woke William up early Thursday to do the 4 hour drive to the park from Lake Bled.  There has been a lot of rain here almost every day and when looking at the weather forecast for Plitvice I knew this would be the perfect day for our visit.  Evidently everyone else figured that out too because when we arrived and went to the entrance to purchase our tickets we were told that there were no more to be sold for the day.  I almost cried right there but then one of the staff told me that if we would drive to the second entrance they had another 400 tickets to sell there.  Wow, lady luck was riding with us again.  We headed back to the parking lot, got our car and drove on to that entrance.  We grabbed our picnic lunch and almost ran once we got to the second entrance to make sure we could get in.  You will see from our pictures that I was not disappointed to finally visit this beautiful natural wonder.

We walked along this wooden pathway for several miles admiring these endless falls.  Oh my gosh, how lovely they were.

And then just outside the park we saw these falls.  A real treat to end the perfect day.
