Only 45 minutes from our Airbnb near Lake Constance we found perhaps the most beautiful place in the world.

A Cable Car would take us up to the top of the Alpine Mountain.

From there we hiked a trail that took us through the Wildkirchli Caves to the hermitage and the Chapel.  Then we continued along the rock face to Berggasthaus Aescher, a mountain inn and restaurant.

And finally we reached the Aescher – the Inn and Restaurant made famous by National Geographic where it was dubbed “Destination of a Lifetime”

After hiking to the Aescher William and I ordered lunch and just sat and took in the beauty of the Alps and the Glacier Lakes.

Here is a closer shot of the Aescher Inn.  It’s built right into the Rock Face of the Mountain.

When we rode the cable car up to the top there were lots of people carrying big back packs.  It didn’t take us long to figure out what they were doing.

What a beautiful place to Paraglide.  I didn’t find out until we were back off the mountain that I could have done a Tandem Paraglide.  Oh well, next time.

Remember that small chapel on the Mountain Side?  Well, just guess what these people were doing.

Yes, getting married!  She had the bottom part of her gown covered but you can see both the bride and the groom walking together with the photographer just behind them here in this shot.

It was a very fun day playing around in the snow at the top of the Alps.

The beauty did not stop once we came off the mountain top.   The mountain streams were beautiful.

And of course there are always churches in all the little towns.
