The first evening we arrived in Florence we went out for a little walk just to get our bearings and to be prepared for our exploration the next morning. When we came upon the Duomo unexpectedly it took our breath away. This Church is over four city blocks in size!

Florence is a small city full of ART! We visited the Ufitzi Museum and the Accademia. I was really anxious to see the REAL statue of David by Michelangelo and was excited to see such priceless works of art on display at the Ufitzi. I will show you here a few that were really impressive to us (neither of us being art critics)
By Leonardo DaVinci
Also by DaVinci
I’m not sure if we will make it to France so I have to include a copy of DaVinci’s Mona Lisa
I do not recall the names and artists of these but they were so moving that I had to share them with you.
The rest of our adventure in Florence led us down little alley ways and streets that seemed like a maze. We were having a difficult time navigating our way around but as we started to look around everyone else was as lost as we were. Here’s a typical shot of most all tourists. We just laughed every time we saw couples trying to figure out where they were and how to get to where they wanted to be. We avoided the stress by not having a destination (remember the Williamnism – If you don’t have a destination you are never lost.)
We had a wonderful place to stay right in the heart of the old city, just steps away from all the sights. This was also an Airbnb place where we shared space with others. We met a young man from Louisanna and a Russian the first day. Today a couple from Oregon came in. We really love the Reset House and the Airbnb experience.
